In the spirit of the Thanksgiving Holiday I have assembled some motivational (and a few humorous) sports quotes for everyone to enjoy.

•“Teamwork is the fuel that allows common people to produce uncommon results.”- Unknown
•“Sportsmanship for me is when a guy walks off the court and you really can’t tell whether he won or lost, when he carries himself with pride either way.”-Jim Courier
•“I like to say, take the shot, even if your knees are shaking.”-Robin Roberts
•“Winning as a team is better than anything. It’s great to share success.”- Jim Harbaugh
•“A boo is louder than a cheer.”-Lance Armstrong
•“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.”-Jesse Owens
•“I’m not concerned with your liking or disliking me... All I ask is that you respect me as a human being.”-Jackie Robinson
•“I certainly don’t regret my experiences because without them, I couldn’t imagine who or where I would be today. Life is an amazing gift to those who have overcome great obstacles, and attitude is everything!”-unknown

•“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots. I’ve lost almost 300 games. I’ve failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”- Michael Jordan
•“The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.”-Muhammed Ali
•“If you never lose then you can never appreciate the victories.”-Unknown
•“Passion, not pedigree, will win in the end.”-Jon Bon Jovi
•“It took me 17 years to get 3,000 hits. I did it in one afternoon on the golf course.”- Hank Aaron
•“October is not only a beautiful month but marks the precious yet fleeting overlap of hockey, baseball, basketball, and football.”-Unknown

And finally.....
•“Anybody who watches three games of football in a row should be declared brain dead.”-Erma Bombeck
And to that I say, it is Thanksgiving—a day for one’s stomach, no brains necessary!
Happy Turkey Day!
St. Mary’s graduate J.J. Helget is a varsity offensive assistant and the offensive line coach for the defending class 4A state champion Mankato West Scarlets, who had been the #1 ranked team in state all year and who had won their first Big Nine Conference title in school history.
Unfortunately for Helget and the Scarletts they will not be repeating as they were beaten Saturday by Totino Grace 35-0.
