The Saint Mary’s volleyball team started off their season strong with two victories. Head coach Karri Hoffmann attributes this team’s strengths to the players’ experience in working together.

Students from both Sleepy Eye and St. Mary’s High Schools make up the football cheerleading squad. Coaches are Jen Hinderman and Shelby Trebesch.

The Cross Country team is a coop with Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s, Sleepy Eye Public, and New Ulm Cathedral. St. Mary’s is the host school. Head Coach Lisa Hagen has been with the team for nine years, the past eight as head coach. Ann Christensen is the assistant coach.

A new year and a new team bring challenges, but head coach Sydney Geiger said that the players’ talent and energy will be the key to its success.
A home game against MVL on Tuesday, Aug. 26 ended in victory for the St. Mary’s Knights, while Sleepy Eye Public Indians’ away game against Loyola resulted in a loss.

Brown County Dairy Princess Lauren Steffl was a Princess Kay of the Milky Way finalist and had her likeness carved in butter on Sunday, August 24.
