I know the information below on scooter safety has been repeated by many people and in many different forms of media. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be getting through. Too many close calls have been reported. Law enforcement and the city are limited to what they are legally able to do. I’m pretty sure the kids on the scooters are not going to report to the parents that they almost got hit by a car. They are more worried about getting the scooter taken away than their own life.

On Tuesday, July 20, 20 Sleepy Eye FFA members visited a variety of places in the Twin Cities in order to learn about each and the career opportunities within them. Paul Hendrickx and Alyssa Mitchell (Sleepy Eye FFA Advisors) and Meta Tewes (Summer Assistant) attended the tour as well.

Sleepy Eye Area Fastpitch 18U softball team ended their season at the Minnesota Softball Tier 4 State Tournament, playing to a 5-0 record to become State Champions. The tournament was in Rochester on July 26-27.
