A sluggish first half by the St. Mary’s offense kept Martin County West within striking distance for a while last week in the Tomahawk-Valley Conference championship, but the Knights have proven all season how difficult they are to bottle up for a full 36 minutes.
The Sleepy Eye Indians (13-13) enter their postseason having fought their way back to .500 by defeating their last three opponents, all of whom have been similarly hovering near or just below the same mark much of the year: St. Mary’s (10-15), Mankato Loyola (12-14) and Cleveland (10-13).

Kids Heart Challenge (KHC) started at Sleepy Eye Elementary on February 11. Through the program, students will learn how to care for their hearts and brains along with acquiring lifesaving skills. Students’ lives are positively impacted by the program as they are empowered to improve their own lives while positively impacting others.
