LOOKING UP: After renovation, second floor of 126-year-old building opens for events and rentals

Sleepy Eye’s newest view comes from one of its oldest buildings, a panorama that stretches from grain elevators to Main Street to a swath of green tree canopy flowing over the neighborhoods beyond.The man who made it happen can see groups reclining and mingling there in the future, enjoying each other’s company and taking in the small town scene.

Next old building slated for repairs

An empty Main Street building in need of major repairs is moving toward renovation with the help of a $25,000 economic development loan.The Economic Development Authority voted at its June meeting to approve the business assistance request by Chuck Hauser, a Sleepy Eye native who is in the process of assuming ownership of the property at 120 Main St.
