An online survey soliciting nominations for Sleepy Eye Public Schools’ next mascot has so far drawn about 90 responses, 25 visual concepts and plenty of thoughts on wildly divergent approaches.Bison and buffalo lead the way – a veritable stampede at 14 nominations combined.
A project to remake Sleepy Eye Medical Center’s physical therapy area and add a room with a rock climbing wall and swings for younger patients is advancing toward construction as early as this spring.Conservative estimates put the total cost of the project at about $418,000, including a cushion for contingencies.
