Glen Taylor announces major philanthropic plan for southern Minn. communities
Rural Comfrey native-turned-billionaire businessman Glen Taylor this week announced a new charitable-giving venture to benefit people in southern Minnesota and rural communities across the state and Iowa.Taylor’s plan includes gifting parcels of farmland in Minnesota and Iowa that are valued at $172 million and using income generated by that land to support three nonprofit organizations: the Mankato Area Foundation, the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation, and the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, according to a release from The Taylor Foundation.
