The Sleepy Eye High School Knowledge Bowl team took fifth place at the State Tournament, held at Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd April 13-14. The year had been strong for the team, taking top honors at nearly every meet since the start of the season in December.
Five Sleepy Eye FFA CDE teams competed in their last Region VI Contests on April 5 and April 14. The Dairy Team placed first in their regional contest.
Happy Spring! The library has been busy prepping for trees to be planted on Arbor Day, Friday, April 28. Students from from Sleepy Eye schools will join the Parks Department in planting a Prairie Stature Oak and a Birch tree on the north side of the library. The trees will be a beautiful addition to the library grounds and are replacing the decayed trees which were taken down earlier this year.
The Sleepy Eye United golfers got in their first meet on Tuesday, April 18 when they hosted New Ulm High School. •SEU girls 210, New Ulm 227 “Great start for our girls,” said Coach Bryant Mages, “210 is just a stroke off of our season low from a year ago, so we are definitely off to a good starting point.” Individual scores, top four count for team score: Liz Schwint - 48 (Medalist); Kiara Murphy - 53; Chloe Walter - 54; Sam Price - 55; Meriden Andres - 59.

The Knights baseball team opened their season on Wednesday, April 12, splitting a doubleheader at New Ulm Cathedral.
The Indians started the baseball season with two lop-sided wins last week—over GFW at home and on the road over Martin County West.
