Miss Sleepy Eye 2023 is crowned

For the 76th year, Miss Sleepy Eye and Princesses were crowned - Sunday evening, March 12 at the Event Center. Mayor Wayne Pelzel gave a welcome to all in attendance and a thank you to the five candidates— Samantha Ibberson, Lacey Mathiowetz, Abigail Schwartz, Elizabeth Schwint, and Kenadi Steffl.

Knights fall in Subsection play

It’s always sad for high school athletes and fans when a great season comes to an end. That was the story for the Knights boys basketball team, the 1-seed in Section 2A North Subsection, when they were defeated by 4-seed Cedar Mountain Cougars in a Subsection quarterfinal game on Thursday, March 9, played at Sibley East High School.
