This issue of the Herald- Dispatch includes the first of two Progress sections. With all the turmoil of the past few years (pandemic and weird ownership) we hadn’t published this type of Progress edition. We’re happy to say it is back this year. •Boys Hockey: The 1-seed Eagles defeated 8-seed Fairmont, 7-0, in their Section 3A Quarterfinal game on Friday, Feb 24, in New Ulm. Austin Uecker scored 1 goal and Talan Helget got 2 assists. The Eagles then defeated 4-seed Mankato West, 4-3, in the semifinal on Feb. 27 at Gustavus, setting them up for the Section 3A Championship game against 2-seed Luverne, played Wednesday night at Gustavus (after the paper is printed) with the winner advancing to the State Tournament.
The Sleepy Eye Indians ended the regular season with a road win over Mankato Loyola on Friday, Feb. 25.
THe NUSE PeeWee B hockey team won the District 4 Championship held in Redwood Falls the weekend of February 17-19. They will now compete at Regions in Marshall, March 3-5. Front: Bryce Winter. The Knights boys basketball team finished the regular season with their 20th win, on Friday, Feb. 24, when the boys and girls teams played in a doubleheader at Mayer Lutheran High School.
