Community Education News

Students needing behind the wheel instruction have received a listing of times and weeks when it will be offered in Sleepy Eye. Six hours are required by law to be completed with a licensed instructor. Parents will also be practicing with the student 40 or 50 hours before the student takes the road test. Most sessions are Monday through Thursday for one and a half hours each day. The schedule is May 22 through July 27 but additional weeks can be added if needed. Participants need their permit in order to do behind the wheel and are encouraged to practice a couple of hours before starting the instruction. The program has been able to provide behind the wheel instruction for youth who may have taken the classroom instruction elsewhere; call the Community Education office for more information.
