The Indians boys basketball team had one bright spot last week, in a big win over Madelia in the Bethany Lutheran College tournament on Saturday. Three other games were losses for the Indians.
The Academic Dean’s lists for the past fall semester at Minnesota State University, Mankato have been announced. Students earning High Honors have achieved a GPA of 4.0; those earning Honors have achieved a GPA of 3.5 to 3.99. The SouthPoint Financial Credit Union Foundation recently awarded a $3,000 grant to Junior Achievement North. The proceeds of the grant will support a Junior Achievement class in the following communities: Sleepy Eye, Hutchinson, New Ulm, North Mankato and St.
• Two EDA Business Assistance Applications that were previously approved had the notes signed and are ready for distribution. Three more applications were reviewed this week by the EDA Finance Committee and recommendations will be made to the full EDA Board on February 28.

City Council week is the one week a month that the final touches get put on the paper early Wednesday morning so that it is done and ready to send to the printer by 8 a.m. I am up early, early Wednesday morning to write this column. (I really should have written it last night when I finished the city council article, but why do today what you can do tomorrow? A bad habit motto of mine.)
