Crowning of 2023 Brown County Dairy Princesses will be held Saturday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at the Farm-City Hub Club Farm Show in New Ulm. The Dairy Princess program is sponsored by the dairy promotion check-off, which helps to build demand and sales for dairy products.

For example, would you prefer to receive a text message when your book on hold is available for pick up? We can do that. Or do you prefer to pay your overdue fines with a credit card? We can do that now.
February is usually a very exciting month at Sleepy Eye Elementary School. We celebrate with Valentine’s and I Love to Read Month festivities, to name a few. February also marks the beginning of the end. As we round out the last half of our school year, teachers start contemplating what standards are left to complete before ushering students onto the next grade level. They also begin preparing students for the always looming MCA assessments.
February is American Heart Month — a time when the nation spotlights heart disease, the number one killer of Americans. In addition, this week, Feb. 12 through 18, is Cardiac Rehabilitation Week. Just the time to highlight the Sleepy Eye Medical Center’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program and how it helps patients.
The St. Mary’s 6th grade boys basketball team won the New Ulm Basketball Association Tournament on February 11. •Boys Hockey: The Eagles dropped one to Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato, 2-1, at home on Feb. 7. Austin Uecker got the assist on the Eagles lone goal. Feb. 9 the Eagles defeated Waseca, 6-1, in Waseca. Uecker scored a goal 54 seconds into the game and also had the Eagles final goal in the third period. The Eagles finished the regular season at home against Hopkins on Feb. 14. Sections begin Feb. 21.
The Indians girls basketball team notched another string of victories in the past week, starting with a home win over the Cedar Mountain Cougars on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
