The weather forecast is looking perfect for the 41st Annual Fishing Derby this Sunday, Feb. 5—sunny with temps in the upper 20s. Boys just want to have fun…with mom

The annual Mother- Son Snowball, organized by ECFE, was held Sunday afternoon, Jan. 29 at the Event Center. Boys age 3 through 3rd grade were invited to attend with their moms or favorite lady friend and about 70 people attended. The Snowball included a photo shoot and frame making activity, snacks, games and dancing to the tunes.

Blessed to be a blessing

I am sitting in my office preparing for this [Jan. 29] Sunday’s sermon and the Gospel text is Matthew 5:1-12, The Beatitudes. You know The Beatitudes, the sermon where Jesus, just after calling his disciples to follow him in chapter 4, in chapter 5 introduces them to God’s way of thinking and the message they will be proclaiming from now on. The Beatitudes were taught just after Jesus proclaimed to everyone that the Kingdom of God is Near (Ch.4). With Jesus on the scene, he is telling everyone the prophesy of Isaiah has been fulfilled, the time of waiting is over, the Messiah is here, there is a new sheriff in town! Does anyone notice that God has arrived?

Hoffmann named Chair of The National Council for Agricultural Education

Mary Hoffmann, Sleepy Eye Ag. teacher and FFA advisor, attended the National Team Ag. Ed. Inservice in Indianapolis, Jan. 2426. Hoffmann has been on The National Council for Agricultural Education board since 2020 as the National Association for Agricultural Educators (NAAE) representative. In 2021, she served as the Secretary for the Council and was the Chair-Elect in 2022.
