This time of year, everyone’s talking about one thing: how much collective weight we put on in December (I know I did my part). On a related note, they’re also talking about New Year’s Resolutions or NYRs, as no one calls them.

My Epiphany prayer for epiphanies

Another Epiphany. I will gladly embrace it, too. Epiphany can, of course, mean January 6th. That is the day of the Church calendar supposedly when the Wise Men found the little child Jesus. So, if the Lord keeps me going to the next January 6th since the last January 6th, I should be grateful.

Sports round up for co-op athletes

•Boys Hockey: The Eagles boys hockey team played in the Fergus Falls Holiday Classic on Dec. 27, 28 and 29, coming out with a tie, a loss, and a win. On Dec. 27 they played host Fergus Falls to a 3-3 tie, with all scoring in the game coming in the 1st period. On Dec. 28, the Eagles lost to Detroit Lakes, 2-3. Austin Uecker scored the first goal and got an assist on the second. On Dec. 29 the Eagles defeated Fort Frances, Ontario, 4-2. Uecker scored a short-handed goal to start the scoring in the game.

Greyhounds overpower Indians

The Indians’ boys basketball team was the only team in town that was actually scheduled to play on Monday, Jan. 2, the night before school would have resumed if not for the heavy snow storm forecast for Tuesday—which moved the Tuesday games of the Indians’ girls and Knights’ boys to Monday also.
