United Way offering free tax preparation program

The United Way of the Brown County Area, in partnership with VITA, our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, will be providing a FREE Tax preparation program, starting Tuesday, Feb. 9 through April 20 in the lower level of the New Ulm Public Library. This program is run by local IRS Certified volunteers who work with the United Way and VITA to provide this much needed service in our community.

Alumni and Friends Tournament tradition continues at St. Mary’s

St. Mary’s Catholic School held their 41st Alumni and Friends Basketball Tournament on Dec. 31. The 2005-2006 team won the tournament, defeating the 2008-14/2016 team with a score of 54-35. Indians lose then win

The Indians boys basketball team was scheduled to host Cedar Mountain on Thursday, Jan. 5, but Cedar Mountain closed school for another snow day so couldn’t play. The game was rescheduled to Friday, Jan. 6, this time at Cedar Mountain in a girls/boys doubleheader.
