Free radon test kits available

Two of five Minnesota homes have dangerous levels of radon, an odorless, colorless, and tasteless gas that can cause lung cancer. Locally, in Brown County, over 70% of homes that were tested for radon had elevated levels. Every January, Brown County Public Health, alongside the Minnesota Department of Health, promotes the importance of testing your homes for radon. Free radon tests are available throughout Brown County while supplies last, beginning January 3.

Community Education News

A new year brings new paticipation opportunities for residents in the school district. Young families are provided activities through the Early Childhood Family Education program. The first event planned is the ECFE Advisory Board meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 4:30 p.m. The main item of business will be to finalize plans for the parent-child dances coming at the end of the month.
