Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa, the Class of 2022 December graduates, including Paige Romberg of Sleepy Eye, BS in Health, Wellness and Behavioral Sciences, Magna Cum Laude. Local ExCEL award winners announced

Each year Minnesota high schools are invited by the Minnesota State High School League to nominate one girl and one boy for the ExCEL Award — Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership. The award is a recognition program for high school juniors who are active in school activities, leaders in their schools, and who demonstrate a strong commitment to community service. This award is sponsored by the League’s corporate partner Wells Fargo.

Sports round up for co-op athletes

•Boys Hockey: The Eagles boys hockey team notched 3 wins last week. At Redwood Valley on Dec. 6, the Eagles won 10-0. Brandon Tauer scored 1 goal. Austin Uecker scored 1 goal and 4 assists. Home against Fairmont on Dec. 8, the Eagles won 11-2. Uecker scored 1 goal and 5 assists. Home again on Dec. 9, the Eagles got a 201 win over Luverne. Uecker got an assist.

Indians defeat Thunderbirds

The Indians boys basketball team had a game scheduled at Springfield for Dec. 6, but it was postponed until Jan. 12. That gave the Indians only one game last week—a road game against the Thunderbirds of GFW on Thursday, Dec. 6—a good win for the Indians.
