Indians football season comes to an end
Taking on the #2 seeded Springfield Tigers, Sleepy Eye, the #7 seed, was defeated 42-21 in Section 3A football playoffs on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in Springfield.

A honeymoon in Sleepy Eye
Editor’s note: Margie is married to Robert (Bob) Petersen, a 1963 graduate of St. Mary’s High School, who submitted her essay. Bob said they both lost their long time spouses about 13 years ago. They met at church and enjoyed each other’s company and got married.

Senior Citizens Club
The Sleepy Eye Senior Citizens Club met Oct. 14 at the Senior Center. Robin Handy from Adult Day Services spoke to the group about the possibility of having a community Bingo day. Following questions after her talk, the business meeting was held, led by Vice President LeAnn Hale. The secretary and treasurer reports were approved as read. There was discussion on getting new members.
Sleepy Eye Federated Woman’s Club
The GFWC Sleepy Eye Woman’s Club met Tuesday, Oct. 18 at Powerhouse Nutrition in Sleepy Eye. Members were treated to a choice of special teas, a healthy shake, and a fruit/nut protein ball. Owner of Powerhouse Nutrition, Jewel Forstner, spoke about the products sold at business and other wellness advice.
Authority (Fourth Commandment)
All authority comes from God. But God entrusts His authority to human beings in various areas of life, for the purpose of serving mankind. In the Fourth Commandment we move from our duty to God to our duty to our fellow human beings, and how God protects this authority.
On stage this weekend, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”
In this scene from 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,' Katrina Van Tassel (Emma Braulick) shares a devastating secret with Ichabod Crane (Kyle Capacia) before he journeys home through the enchanted woods.The play is on stage at Sleepy Eye High School Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the door one hour prior to performance. Election Day is Nov. 8
Tuesday, Nov. 8 is General Election Day across the United States. On the ballot for all Minnesotans are races for U.S. Representative, Governor and Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, State Auditor, Attorney General, State Senator, State Representative, and Judicial seats. Local races in Sleepy Eye include County Officials, City Councilors, and School Board Members. Some Township ballots include Township Officers.
