Recycle Your Holiday lights collection is underway

Now through Jan. 20, Sleepy Eye and area residents can dropoff their unwanted light strands at one of six locations: Brown County REA, Sleepy Eye Ace Hardware, Schutz Family Foods, Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye Public School, and St. Mary’s School or Church.

I am not surprised as I notice this every year—the students pay close attention to the entire program. They are politely quiet and show their appreciation to the veterans who come to present the program. At both schools, the students leave the program in a line, shaking hands with the Sleepy Eye Honor Guard members, thanking them for their service and for the program.

Asked if he was somewhat exhausted after the long campaign and eventual loss, Jensen said, “Not at all. Traveling around the state to talk with voters was a wonderful experience for Mary [his wife] and me. We enjoyed the many hours we spenttogether in the car, justtalking.
