November is just around the corner with a number of activities planned. But before that, the ECFE Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, 3 to 5 p.m. in the Sleepy Eye School parking lot. This fun event will be filled with fall themed games and trunk or treating by anyone who wishes to join in the fun. Decorate your vehicle and yourself, open your trunk which is filled with treats or prizes and greet the little ones as they stop by to see you. Older youth will be helping with some of the games. Come dressed in full costume but no weapons or scary masks.

Letter to the Editor

To the editor: In 2018, when I voted for Tim Walz for governor, I had no idea that the Covid pandemic was just around the corner. When Covid started, Gov. Walz was a calm voice of reason. My family and I felt safe with him in charge. Under his leadership, Minnesotans got back to work, and we now enjoy the nation’s lowest unemployment rate at 2%. He deserves re-election on Nov. 8, and I will be voting for him.

Halloween fun in Sleepy Eye

Ghosts and Evil Spirits….

A pastor receives a phone call from a member who reports that there is an evil presence in the house. The member goes on to explain that the house they are currently living in went cheap because there was a murder suicide in the living room. But now the family is worried the ghosts of the couple are lingering in the house. What do you do?

Jensen campaigns in Sleepy Eye

Candidate for Governor, Scott Jensen, stopped at the Sleepy Eye Brewing Co. for a Community Meet and Greet on Oct. 24. He is pictured with Brown County Republican Chair Greg Bartz, who introduced Jensen before he spoke to a room full of hometown supporters. Jensen is a 1973 graduate of Sleepy Eye High School.
