September EDA update

Welcome fall! It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Before summarizing the September EDA Board Meeting, I wanted to comment on a couple of projects that recently took place or are going to take place. First, the Huey Helicopter Project. It was one of, if not the most enjoyable and satisfying projects that I have ever been involved with. Thank you to all the businesses, groups, organizations, and individuals who donated money, time, and talents to make this project the success that it was. A special thank you to Rick Mages, Doug Pelzel, and Steve Haala for spearheading the efforts. I witnessed many military veterans who were moved with emotion from the escort in Iowa to Sleepy Eye, through the ceremony that took place for the dedication of the Huey Helicopter. Thank you to ALL our military veterans! This effort was to honor all of you. There has been a renewed interest in purchasing name plates for the Memorial Wall since the dedication, and I would encourage others to place their orders now as I would like to submit the next order as soon as possible and I need a minimum of eight to order.

I admit it’s immature and there are better ways to show love. And yet… here we are.

God blesses us

On September 20th, the temperature in the afternoon was 97 degrees, and the following morning, the ‘last day of Summer,’ was in the mid 50s? A rather colossal announcement that Summer was officially over.
