The St. Mary’s Knights volleyball team traveled to Le Sueur-Henderson on Monday night, Sept. 26 and got another win, but it took five sets. A highlight for the team was Bella Hoffmann reaching her 1,000 set assists milestone—she needed 18 to achieve it and got 20 on the night.

100th anniversary of Babe Ruth visit to Sleepy Eye to be celebrated on Oct. 15
The story sounds like a baseball legend, too good to be true: the great Babe Ruth – in his prime – laced up his cleats for a game in Sleepy Eye, a small town on the Minnesota prairie and belted two home runs, including one he described decades later as the longest he had ever hit.

Last week, on Wednesday, a number of schools in Minnesota were affected by “swatting” which was explained as a hoax call being made to law enforcement or a school, reporting an active shooter in the school, maybe even including a room number where there are casualties.
Trapshooting season underway for Sleepy Eye FFA
Sleepy Eye FFA members have competed in their first three trapshooting events of the season, at Springfield, Mountain Lake and Sleepy Eye. This was the first year an FFA Trapshooting event was held at the Sleepy Eye Sportsmen’s Club. There are 24 members on the 2022 Sleepy Eye FFA Trap Shoot Teams.
