Congratulations to everyone who had a part in planning and carrying out our first Summerfest in Sleepy Eye! Have you ever seen so many people in Sleepy Eye as there were over the weekend? I went to every event, except to hear Rock of Ages at Sleepy Eye Brewing Co. on Saturday night.
The All Schools Reunion, on Friday night at Sleepy Eye Brewing Company, was a resounding success. Organizers said approximately 350 former students of the local high schools attended the event. The Stark Longhorns got the win over Maple Lake, 9-8, in the first round of the Class C State Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 20, played in Dundas. The win advances Stark to play the Bemidji Blue Ox on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. in Faribault.
