Evaluating the News seminar offered

Brown County Farmers Union, Brown County NFO, and the New Ulm Public Library will present a seminar on Evaluating the News on Monday, July 25. There is no cost, and the public is invited. The two-hour seminar will begin at 7 p.m. in the Sleepy Eye Community Center, 115 2nd Avenue NW. Doors open at 6:30.

Happy 4th of July, everyone! We are so fortunate to live here in this great country and where we can appreciate the freedom and opportunity we have here. The fireworks were delightful and the area around the lake made welcome viewing for so many.

Teen shoots her first 25

The Sleepy Sportsmen’s Club’s Trap Range is open each Wednesday evening. In addition to members who get together to shoot, the club welcomes non-members and youth. In fact, youth age 17 and younger get a free box of shells from the Sportsmen’s Club.

Question: In summertime I notice a lot more tire treads on the roads, can you write about what to do if you have a tire blow out while driving? Answer: It is important to monitor proper tire pressure and your tire condition and hopefully you can avoid a tire blow out. In the warmer months the hot air can cause your tires to increase pressure while the colder months can cause the air in your tires to condense, lowering the tire pressure.
