If you like to read, and if you are an old-timer like me, you probably have fond memories of the Dyckman Free Library from your childhood. One of my earliest memories in Sleepy Eye (we moved here in April of my first grade school year) was going to the library with my Grandpa Sandmann to get a library card. Grandpa had children from coast to coast, and each family had the “pleasure” of hosting him for visits that lasted a couple weeks. (He could be kind of bossy, but he did take me to the library that first summer.)
