6th grade JO VB team wins three tournaments

The Sleepy Eye Public School 6th grade JO Volleyball team competed in three MSF 12U tournaments this spring. They took home first place in all three tournaments; the tournaments - New London, Hutchinson and Fairmont. From the Editor’s Desk

It is almost noon on Tuesday. I am expecting a message any minute to go take a picture at Public School (see the front page) while also listening to/watching the livestream for the State FFA Convention. Truthfully, I’m watching that because my two oldest grandchildren, from Maple River FFA, are set to appear on stage during today’s final general session when the last group of awards are announced. I expect to see some Sleepy Eye FFA members on the stage also. I already checked out photos on the State FFA Facebook page and saw a number of Sleepy Eye kids who were recognized with top awards during the earlier days of the convention.

Mystical Gardens set the scene for St. Mary’s Prom

Prom attendees went to 5:30 Mass, followed by the Grand March in the school auditorium. They then went to the Sleepy Eye Event Center for the Prom dinner and dance, followed by the after party. The Brown County Historical Society invites the public to Lunch and a Bite of History on Thursday, May 5, Noon to 1 p.m. at the Brown County Museum Annex. Featured speaker, Megan Schnitker, will present, “A Story of Local Native Plants.”
