International Woman’s Day

March 8 is International Women’s Day. Don’t ask me how I know this. I just do. So let us speak of Woman, specifically the International Woman. I like her. Very much. In my opinion She deserves much more than a day. But time waits for no man. Or woman, it seems. So… let’s get to it.

Students observe lake watershed study process

St. Mary’s Environmental Science students watch as MSU geology professor, Dr. Bryce Hoppie, tests water chemistry and collects a sediment core sample from the bottom of East Sleepy Eye Lake (the slough). Hoppie leads an ongoing watershed study for the City of Sleepy Eye and when possible allows the Environmental Science students to observe and follow the progress of the study. Lady Knights fall to YME at the buzzer

A threatened snow storm on Feb. 22 canceled what was supposed to be the Lady Knights’ final regular season game against GHECML at Granada. It was not rescheduled but Coach Bruce Woitas was able to schedule one more game for the Knights before they headed in to Subsection playoffs. They traveled to Granite Falls to play Yellow Medicine East on Thursday, Feb. 24 and lost, 76- 74, as YME hit a buzzer beater.
