MINNETONKA - Fred Allan Ehlert, 54, of Minnetonka, MN, passed away suddenly at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, with his wife by his side holding his hand, on January 13, 2022 Fred was born in Breckenridge, MN, the seventh and youngest child of Harry and Hilarion Ehlert on September 2, 1967. Fred grew up in Alexandria, MN and graduated from Duluth Central High School class of 1985.

Last Friday night when the local boys basketball teams met at Sleepy Eye High School, Knight Carson Domeier had a big all around game while scoring his 1,846th career point, becoming the all time scoring leaders for St. Mary’s boys (passing assistant coach Sean Mathiowetz’s 2013 mark of 1,838)
Carson Domeier broke the St. Mary's men's basketball scoring record on Feb. 4 when he surpassed the record of 1,838 held by assistant coach Sean Mathiowetz since 2013. One month after their first match up, cross-town rivals, the Knights and Indians met again in girls basketball on Thursday, Feb. 3. The first meeting on Jan. 4 saw the Indians lead at the half and the Knights come back to win the game, 61-47. The second game Thursday night had the Knights up by 9 at halftime, and getting an 18 point lead at one point, with the Indians fighting back to keep the second half close, losing by 10 in the end. Madison Mathiowetz scored 44 of the Knights' points.
The Eagles girls hockey team is heading into Section 3A play as the #1 seed. With a bye on the first night of the tournament (Feb. 10) they will meet the winner of the #4 WIndom vs. #5 Fairmont game in the next round—at the New Ulm Civic Center on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 3 p.m.
