Two softball players from Sleepy Eye faced each other at the Bethany Lutheran College tournament played in the dome at MSU-Mankato last weekend. Brynja Mielke is a Sleepy Eye High School graduate and a sophomore playing at Bethany.
The Eagles boys hockey team finished the regular season at Luverne on Thursday, Feb. 17 and got a nice 5-2 win over the team that has been chasing them in the Big South standings this season. The Eagles finished with a 16-0 conference record, 19-6-0 overall.
Friday, Feb. 18 the Indians girls basketball team traveled to Renville and defeated the Renville County West Jaguars, 76 to 25.
New Ulm Cathedral 53, Indians 40 The Indians started a home game streak last week with two disappointing losses but finished with an exciting win over a very tough opponent. Coach Shane Heiderscheidt said the boys have been working hard.
Knights 79, Wabasso 59 The Knights boys basketball team clinched the Tomahawk Conference title with a 79-59 win over Wabasso, at home Tuesday, Feb. 15.
