The St. Mary’s boys basketball team closed out the regular season on a positive note with a 94-70 home win over non-conference foe LCWM.
The Knights got off to a slow start, trailing 11-5 but picked up their pace and their shooting touch to take a 52-36 lead into the intermission.
“This was an excellent game to finish the regular season against a team with a winning record,” said coach Tim Milliard. “We have very good offensive balance with five different players hitting more than one three-pointer.”
Sean Mathiowetz led the way with 19 points. Jordan Osmonson, Kansas Adams and Adam Sellner each canned 13 points.
“I feel this group has steadily improved the last few weeks and is playing good basketball,” said Milliard. “Hopefully we can carry things into the playoffs.”
The Knights take an 8-16 record into the pigtail game of the playoffs which they will host Thursday night.
