Two relays and three individuals placed in events before lightning ended the meet.
The Crookston Pirates boys track/field team traveled to Ada for their final regular season meet. The girls did not compete as they will head to Stillwater this weekend for the State True Team Meet.
The meet was called short due to lightning after 10 events with the Pirates sitting in fifth at the time.
Mason Wang provided the most points in a single event by winning the 100m. Wang finished with a time of 11.58 beating second place by .16 seconds.
Two different relays placed for the Pirates to collect points. The 4x800m consisting of Ben Brantner, Andrew MacGregor, Cameron Weiland and Ben Andringa place fourth with a time of 9:01.92. The 4x200m relay of Noah Kiel, Josh Bernia, Lukas Meier and Wang grabbed second doing so in 1:36.81.
Jaden Lubarksi was only able to race in the 110m hurdles, but still placed in the top eight taking seventh in 19.09.
After being a part of the 3200m relay’s placing, Brantner also finished in seventh for the 1600m run. Brantner broke five minutes crossing the finish line at 4:57.15.
Crookston will now take a week off before going to East Grand Forks for the Sub-Section 31A Meet. The meet is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
