- VFW essay contest winner Jim St. Peter
- Each year the VFW Auxiliary holds an essay contest for students in grades six through eight with a theme chosen by state officials to write something about patriotism. The theme this year was, ?What would I?tell America?s founding fathers.??Jim St. Peter of St. Mary?s School was chosen as one of the first place winners receiving $75. Benjamin Draper of St. John?s and Alex Woitas were chosen as second place winners each receiving $50.
