          SENIOR MADDY HELGET hits a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game 5-5 on May 16 in Sleepy Eye. It was Helget’s first high school career home run. The Knights defeated Martin County West 7-6.
        • Indians split MVL doubleheader, end regular season with win May. 22, 2013
          Game 1: Minnesota Valley Lutheran 5, Sleepy Eye Public 4; Game 2: Sleepy Eye Public 10, MVL 0 The Chargers hosted the Sleepy Eye Public baseball team for a doubleheader on May 16. The Indians broke down in the seventh inning and gave MVL a conference victory. 
          HEAD COACH AARON Nesvold and assistant coach John Hirschboeck posed for a photo before the game on May 21. Hirschboeck was given the 2013 Don Boelter Award, which is given to a person who shows concern, care, and passion for Sleepy Eye Indians baseball. The Indians defeated Mankato Loyola 5-4 after eight innings.

          They did it again. The Sleepy Eye United girls track and field team won first place at the Tomahawk Conference meet on May 16, making them the 2013 Tomahawk Conference Champions for the fifth year in a row.
