Michael Joseph Gall, age 37, of Courtland died, Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church located at 105 North Fifth Street in Mankato, with Rev. Donald Rauscher S.J., officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Loyola Catholic Schools. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Michael was born July 31, 1972 to Joseph and Linda (Mages) Gall. He graduated from Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Catholic School in 1991. Michael attended South Central Technical College. He was united in marriage to Jennifer Becken on June 18, 1993 at Nora Unitarian Universalist Church, Hanska. He was an auto body painter at Fromm’s Collision Center for 17 years. Michael was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato, Nicollet Conservation Club, and New Ulm Trap Range. Michael was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, hunting, trap shooting, fishing and walking in the woods with his dogs. He also bowled in several leagues. Michael was a real family man spending most of his free time with his sons.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer of Courtland; three children, Nathan, Nicholas and Nolan of Courtland; parents, Joe and Linda Gall of North Mankato; sister, Gina (Todd) Andersen of Mankato; grandmother, Barbara Mages of Sleepy Eye; mother-in-law, Diane Becken of New Ulm; sister-in-law, Katherine Becken of Houston, TX; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Isabelle Gall, Alphonse Mages; father-in-law, Bryan Becken; aunt Mary Elizabeth Mages; four uncles, Robert Mages, Chuck Strate, Jerome Fromm and Ed Fromm; cousins, Paula and Doug Mages, and Alan Fromm.
