Kenneth Streich, 79 of Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, April 7.

Kenneth Streich, 79 of Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, April 7, at Hillcrest Rehabilitaion Center in Mankato, Minnesota. Visitation will be on Friday, April 13, from 4 p.m., to 7 p.m., and will continue on Saturday from 9:30 a.m., until 10:30 a.m., at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Service will be held at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye on Saturday, April 14, at 10:30 a.m. The clergy will be Pastor Grant Fischer. Interment will be at Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Military Honors by the Sleepy Eye Honor Guard. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. On line condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Kenneth George Streich was born on Nov. 25, 1938 in Comfrey, to Raymond & Julia (Groebner) Streich. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965. He married June Wegner on July 11, 1968 at the Redwood Falls Courthouse. He farmed with his dad for 18 years, worked as a mechanic in Clements and Cobden. He also owned and operated Streich's Bar for 13 years and drove truck for Christensen Farms and Schwartz Farms retiring in 2008. He enjoyed playing guitar and concertina, old time music, riding his Harley motorcycle, camping, snowmobiling and traveling to Sturgis.

He is survived by his wife June of Sleepy Eye; son Quinten and wife Donna Streich of Statesville, N.C.; Three grandchildren: Cody, Courtney and Casey; sisters-in-law: Jeanette (Michael) Crouch of Sleepy Eye, and Lauraine (Stan) Sowers of Sleepy Eye; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clifford (Shirley) Streich.
