Redwood Falls businessman, Gary Dahms, is announcing his bid for the Minnesota Senate District 21 seat. Dennis Frederickson, the current office holder, has announced that he will not seek re-election this fall. Dahms says, “Frederickson will be missed. Dahms will draw on a broad base of experience serving on several boards in various capacities, including the Redwood Area Education Foundation; Redwood County Agricultural Society; Redwood Area FFA Alumni Association; Redwood County Extension Committee; Redwood Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Board; Redwood Area Development Corporation; Redwood County Economic Development Association; Redwood County Soil and Water Conservation District; Southwest Minnesota Regional Development Commission; Minnesota Valley Rail Authority; Service Enterprises Inc.; and Redwood/Renville Health Services Board.

When asked why he is running Dahms states, “I want to represent the people of this district because I believe that rural Minnesota needs a strong voice in our legislature, and I know that decisions made in St. Paul will have a major impact on our future.  I have been actively engaged in issues involving agriculture, economic development, environment, education and health care.  Now, guided by my values, I am ready to apply my broad experience to represent District 21 in the Minnesota Senate.”
