Thursday, May, 13, 16 members of the Network Brown County Leadership Program toured Brown County. Traveling about 130 miles that day, the group toured historical sites throughout the county from the John Lind House in New Ulm to the Milford Town Hall, Essig, the Milford Monument, the site of the Golden Gate Village, Evan, Cobden, Springfield, Mound Creek County Park, Comfrey, Leavenworth, Iberia, Godahl, Hanska, Searles and back to the Lind House for graduation. During the graduation ceremonies held at the Lind House in New Ulm, all graduates expressed sincere gratitude for the amount of information they were able to learn about a truly dynamic county.
The Network Brown County Leadership Program, sponsored and run by Bridging Brown County, is designed to help current and emerging leaders understand the dynamics of the community, and the role leadership shares in building healthy communities throughout the county.
The program brings together Brown County residents of diverse backgrounds to share a common commitment to the future health of this area. Members of the group participated in four leadership seminars led by Katie Rasmussen, University of MN Extension Educator and also toured many Brown County businesses and industries, ag related businesses and government buildings.
