2018 St. Mary's graduate Ali Beltz added to her season point total with her first career collegiate goal in the Black Bears victory Friday night.

2018 St. Mary’s graduate Ali Beltz has begun her college career as a Division-1 hockey player. Ali recorded three assists in her first exhibition game University of Maine Black Bears in a 7-0 victory. Beltz recorded her first official point with an assist in a season-opening 2-1 overtime victory last Friday, Oct. 5 over Quinnipiac University.

Beltz was able to put one into the back of the net Friday night Oct. 12 against Sacred Heart University in just her third official game for the Black Bears for her first career collegiate goal. Beltz’s goal sparked the Black Bears to an 8-0 victory. The Black Bears are now 3-0 in the regular season and will face Sacred Heart again Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.

After leading the state of Minnesota in scoring in 2017-18, Beltz has made a seamless transition to the college game. Ali is majoring in Nursing at the University of Maine and is the daughter of Vicky and Jody Beltz of Sleepy Eye.
