Residents of Divine Providence Community Home wondered who the bouquets were for, as volunteers from the Sleepy Eye Wide Awakes, A to Zinnia Floral and Gifts staff and Miss Sleepy Eye Royalty rolled through Divine’s hallways with colorful plants and floral arrangements in honor of Teleflora’s “Make Someone Smile Week.”
Delivery to area nursing homes in Sleepy Eye, Morgan, Gibbon, New Ulm, and Fairfax took place last week, thanks in large part to A to Zinnia Floral and Gifts which is the only florist in Minnesota supporting this charitable campaign. In preparation for “Make Someone Smile Week,” 700 to 800 floral bouquets were prepared by A to Zinnia with donated mugs, flowers, plants, time, and delivery.
“The simple bright yellow mug filled with flowers definitely makes our Grandfriends at Divine smile!” said ShellyRae Zinniel, Activity Coordinator of DPCH. “It’s a wonderfully caring gesture and the idea of community stepping in to help makes it even more priceless.”
