Some county offices see more than one candidate.

The filing period for county offices and soil and water conservation districts continues through June 5. Some positions have seen more than one candidate file for office.

Current filings, found on the Minnesota Secretary of State website, include:

County Commissioner for District 4: Dean Simonsen, incumbent. Sleepy Eye is in District 4.

County Auditor/Treasurer: Jean Prochniak, incumbent; Paul J. Wesselmann.

County Recorder: Betti Kamolz, incumbent.

County Sheriff: Rich Hoffmann, incumbent; Jeffrey S. Hohensee.

County Attorney: Chuck Hanson, incumbent.

Soil and Water Supervisor District 3: Gregory J. Roiger, incumbent. Sleepy Eye is in District 3.

There will be three Sleepy Eye City Council positions on the ballot for the Nov. 6 general election. Because Sleepy Eye doesn’t hold a primary election for city offices, the filing period is July 31 through Aug. 14. Offices that will appear on the ballot include: Council Member At Large, currently held by Nate Stevermer; Ward 1 Council Member, currently held by Doug Pelzel; and Ward 2 Council Member, currently held by Dick Zinniel.
