The Indians started out hot, scoring 10 runs in the first inning and two more in the second. Nicollet didn’t answer until the fifth and final inning when they scored their three runs, but it was too little too late for them as Sleepy Eye had already added three more of their own.

After being rained out on Monday, May 14, the Indians hosted GFW to an early doubleheader on Tuesday—getting the games in before the high school concert, and coming out with two nice conference wins.

“We came out slow again, but found a way to break it open and start hitting the ball hard like we know how,” said Coach Sydney Geiger. “Kathryn started to find her rhythm and defense made some great plays. Leslie Flores had a couple awesome catches in left and Brynja Mielke made some nice plays at short, to really spark our energy and get us going. Two more good team wins!”

The Indians were 8-4 overall and ready to host Springfield Thursday, May 17—their last conference game before playoff seedings were announced.
