On Monday, April 16, seventeen Sleepy Eye FFA members traveled to Westbrook for the Region VI FFA Awards Banquet.

On Monday, April 16, seventeen Sleepy Eye FFA members traveled to Westbrook for the Region VI FFA Awards Banquet, along with advisors Mary Hoffmann and Nathan McMullen. Numerous members were recognized for their excellence, and Josie Lang retired as the 2017-2018 Region Reporter.

This year’s Region VI Proficiency winners from Sleepy Eye included: Isaac Nelson, Dairy Production Entrepreneur-ship; Cassidy Hoffmann, Ag. Education; Parker Neid, Ag. Mechanics Design and Fabrication, and Diversified Crop Production; McKenzie Cselovszki, Goat Production and Equine Placement; Cassidy Hacker, Specialty Animal Production and Josie Lang, Ag. Communications.

In Career Development Events, the Milk Quality and Products, Small Animals, Poultry, Best Informed Greenhand, and Fish and Wildlife teams were all recognized for taking first in the Region VI contests, as well as the Soils team for placing second. Cali Rossbach and Paige Romberg were also recognized for being the first place individuals in their respective contests.

Livia Nelson participated in the Talent CDE while attending the Region VI Banquet. The night was a time of region fellowship and honoring the successes of the Region VI FFA members and chapters.
