In its fifth year, Hobby Day at Sleepy Eye Elementary School took place on Friday morning, April 20. Co-sponsored by the PBIS teacher committee (Positive Behavior Intervention System) and the Friends of SEPS parent group, this incentive day activity involves bringing in outside volunteers to help lead—along with help from teachers and staff—almost 300 students in a hobby for one hour.

Students got a list of different activities to choose from and were placed in a group based on their top selections. The activities included lego building, balloon art, potting plants, making healthy snacks, painting kindness rocks, dressing their American Girl Doll, dance, playing yard games, yoga, making slime, cake decorating, frisbee golf, canvas painting, speed/strength training and tying fleece blankets. Parents and community members were encouraged to participate in this annual activity.
