Minnesota native, Cory Greenwood, visited both St. Mary’s and Sleepy Eye High School last Thursday to share a message of hope and encouragement.

Greenwood talked to the students about his rough childhood and the loss of his father, and how that affected his need to be accepted by others. Greenwood went on to share stories of his time in high school and some of the good and bad decision he made along the way.

During his talk, Greenwood pulled out a 20 dollar bill to use as an example saying, “Even after things happen to this bill [he crumpled it in his hands] it’s still worth 20 dollars—the value remains the same.”

For his overall message, Greenwood wanted the students to grasp the idea that no matter what may be going on in their lives, “The World Needs You.”
