Both teams were evenly matched and at points both held ten-point leads over the other. Madison Mathiowetz put 16 points in the bucket for St. Mary’s in the first half. St. Mary’s ended the half at 39-34.

In the second half Sydney Windschitl and Cassie Heinrichs led the charge on offense and St. Mary’s outscored LCWM by one point. “It was a close game all night,” said coach Bruce Woitas. “We took a five-point lead at the end of the first half and the second half was close the whole time. We came out with a nice win here.”

The Knights host the Granada Huntley East Chain on Friday, Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
