Winter is finally here. Know what pairs well with this cold, snowy weather? A book from the library.
Winter is finally here. Know what pairs well with this cold, snowy weather? A book from the library. Or maybe you need something to pass the time when you’re waiting for the fish to bite on the lake. Just don’t excitedly drop your book in the hole when a fish does bite!
Come in and check out a book to read between baking cookies or wrapping presents. Or check out an audiobook for that long ride to the relatives. Stock up on movies to watch over the holidays. I recommended Die Hard, it’s a true Christmas classic. But I guess you could go with Elf or White Christmas too!
There are a lot of fun activities going on at the library this month.
As always, storytime is every Friday at 10 a.m. Come enjoy a story and a fun activity.
Ever been to a Build a Bear workshop before? Well, the library is having its own Build a Bear workshop on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. We are going to be making snowmen! This program is open to all ages, but is limited to 35 participants. Families can surely work together to make one snowman to take home. It’s going to be a blast, an Arctic blast!
This month’s movie night will be Dec. 29 at 6 p.m. The movie will be “Despicable Me 3.” Admission is free and there will also be free popcorn and invisible Kool Aid.
The library is a great place to hang out after school and work on homework or read a book. There are always activities out in the children’s area.
Did you know that you can receive email notices about overdues and hold pickups? The library can even email a reminder telling you that certain items need to be returned or renewed. All you need to do is provide a valid email address when getting a library card, or stop by and have us update your information.
Regarding email notices: Recently NU-Telecom has NOT been letting emails that end in any of its domains—sleepyeyetel.net, newulmtel .net or nutelecom.net—through its servers. For some reason, NU-Telecom is declaring these emails “unsafe” and has been unwilling to work with the Traverse de Sioux Library Cooperative to fix the issues involved. If you have an email ending in one of the above domains and you haven’t been receiving our emails, I encourage you to do one of two things: sign up for a web-based free email account such as Gmail or Hotmail, or call NU-Telecom and complain. Hopefully this issue is resolved in a timely manner.
