Crystal Dibley, County Executive Director with the USDA Brown County Farm Service Agency, is new to that position and also new to the Sleepy Eye area.

Dibley grew up on a dairy and grain farm near Calloway (north of Detroit Lakes) and worked as a program technician with Becker County FSA for 13 years. In January of this year, she completed the county operations trainee program. After looking at a couple offers, she accepted the Brown County position and brought her family to Southern Minnesota.

In her position Dibley offers oversight to the staff, and works with farmers on complex cases as they apply for federal farm programs and maintain their eligibility. The FSA assists with conservation programs and farm program payments.

Dibley was very active in FFA and 4-H as a youth and still enjoys helping with harvest on the home farm. She and husband, Eric, feel fortunate to have found a rural home to rent, just outside of Sleepy Eye. “Our little guy got to ride in the neighbor’s combine,” she said. “Just what he would have done back home.”

Sleepy Eye turned out to be a great fit for the couple. Eric, a mechanic, accepted a position with Schroepfer, Inc. They have two children, Dane, age three and Jayda, 17 months.

The Dibleys looks forward to meeting people in Sleepy Eye. “Everyone has been very friendly and helpful,” she said.
