The RCW Jaguars have had an up and down season of their own, going into playoffs 4-4 for the season. But they were up, right from the start as they put two touchdowns on the board in the first quarter.

Brandon Wait gave the Knights hope, recovering a fumble with 2:17 left in the quarter. But the Jaguars defensive line pushed them back two yards and regained the ball before the Knights had a chance at second down.

In the second quarter, Andrick Sanchez and Luke Miller worked the ball down the field. At quarterback, Sanchez gave the Knights a first down on the 40-yard line. Things looked hopeful and Sanchez went 36 yards for another first down. But the Jaguars forced the Knights to give up the ball and got back on offense. After forcing RCW to kick, Wait returned it 37 yards to once again give the Knights a scoring window. The Knights failed to score, in spite of fumble recoveries and an interception, and went into halftime down, 28-0.

After halftime, the Knights pushed back with two touchdowns by Sanchez, one from Wait and another from Max Heiderscheidt. RCW owned the ball in the second half however, and brought the score to 40-26.

“Going to miss the senior class,” Coach Brent Kucera said. “Fun group to be around.”
