The Knights cross country team traveled to Madelia on Oct. 12 for a 10-team meet. Teams competing were Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial, Martin County West, Minnesota Valley Lutheran, Heron Lake-Okebena, Sleepy Eye/St. Mary’s/ New Ulm Cathedral, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop, Maple River, Madelia/ Truman/Granada-Huntley-East Chain, Loyola/ Cleveland and Medford.

The Knights’ girls team placed fifth. Abby Hagen finished in fifth place with a time of 21:12. Brianna Polesky followed in 11th place at 21:36. Clarissa Simonsen finished in the top three for the Knights, at 24:07.

Isaac Nelson led the Knights boys team, finishing in 19th place with a time of 18:43. Ethan Kirchberg followed in 37th place at 20:03. The boys placed eighth as a team.

Conference Meet

The Knights competed in the Tomahawk Conference meet on the Winthrop golf course Tuesday, Oct. 17.

The girls placed third of five schools with Polesky and Hagen in second and third place. Polesky came in at 21:31 with Hagen coming in at 22:00. Clarissa Simonsen came in 16th at 24:43.

The boys placed fourth, led once again by Isaac Nelson in 10th place at 19:33. Josh Hagen followed in 14th place at 20:49.

The Knights hit the road for Blue Earth to compete in the Section 2A meet Thursday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m.
